Singapore: Short and sweet.

This was my forth visit to Singapore. The first one was way back in 1990-something when I went on a cruise trip with my family. The second time was in 2009 when I visited a friend. And the third time was for a business trip just a month prior to this trip. I noticed how much it has changed since my 2009 visit and thought that it would be nice to take my husband and son for a long weekend.

We stayed for 4D3N. The first couple of nights, we stayed at Equarius Hotel, which is a part of Resorts World Sentosa. We were pleasantly surprised with the massive size of the hotel room - which is rather unusual in Singapore. Its close approximity and good connectivity to numerous attractions also makes it very convenient for families with young kids. The last night we moved to Pan Pacific Hotel closeby Marina Bay Sands so we could also check out the city center. Here I had the most expensive hot chocolate in the history of my being. I mean, Singapore is expensive in general, but $10 for a cup of instant hot chocolate was beyond me. Instead of cursing and becoming aggrevated, we just had to laugh it off.

It was a short but enjoyable getaway. I personally really enjoyed the visit to Cloud Forest. Universal Studio was fun, but Liam (our son) was still too young for most of the rides. We'd also recommend a visit to the SEA Aquarium. Here's our itineraries in photos:

Day 1: SEA Aquarium

Day 2: Universal Studio - Sentosa Wings of Time

Day 3: Orchard Road - Gardens by the Bay (Cloud Forest - Satay by the Bay - Supertree Grove)

Day 4: The Merlion
