Pramuka Island: Dive and doei!

Having crossed bungee jumping and skydiving off my bucket list, the next thing I always wanted to do was diving. Timing and location couldn't get any better as I currently live in Indonesia where the world's best diving sites are located. Recommended by a friend, I decided to get my Scuba diving certification from NAUI. To be a certified open water diver, I had to attend 2 times theory class, 1 or 2 times pool session (depending on individual needs), and pass both the theory and practical exams.
The practical exam took place on Pramuka Island, which is a part of the Thousand Islands chain (Kepulauan Seribu) located to the north of Jakarta's coast. It takes approximately one hour by a speed boat to reach Pramuka Island from Ancol Marina. We stayed for 2D1N in a divers' lodge. The island itself is densely populated and visited mostly by divers. The water is generally clear but don't expect sandy beaches here. Also the underwater envinronment was not as good as I'd hoped (nothing compared to Flores). But I didn't mind since my main purpose was to pass the exam - and pass the exam I did (yay!). After some getting used to, I very much enjoyed the whole experience and convinced to do it again!
Can't wait for the next dive trip!!
